paddington

This existing terrace structure was blessed with natural light from both the double height glazing at the rear and the internal winter garden that joined the second bedroom to the living zones. In keeping with the clients love of black and white I chose to paint the bedrooms a moody charcoal grey which picked up tones in the japan black stained oak herringbone flooring. A Greg Natale rug adds visual interest in the master bedroom whilst featured brass lighting act as jewellery pieces throughout.

The second bedroom was styled as an art studio with glorious northerly light filtering in from the winter garden. The downstairs bathroom continues the monochrome theme with a black and white Bisazza mosaic tile from floor to ceiling.

existing space

The Michinson House is a two-story terrace located in one of Paddington’s premiere tree-lined avenues. The 212m2 space is comprised of a 64m2 first floor with a 148m2 ground floor that was the focus of this redesign.

client brief

The clients had a clear personal aesthetic that was expressed in their existing furniture and artwork choices. The monochromatic colour palette and emphasis on luxury materials was evident and needed to be embraced and enhanced.
